Letter To The MWAV Crew
How were managing our staff shortage issues
Dear staunch and long suffering MWAV Heroes
Thank you all for the outstanding work you've been putting in during this tumultuous start to 2022.
As you may or may not be aware; due to the effect of COVID-19 on the current labour market, and like many other industries, we’ve been having a great deal of trouble returning to pre-COVID staffing levels:
We’ve increased the prices charged to customers twice in recent months and have not been paying directors salaries, in an effort to ensure we have enough cash flow to cover our fixed costs and keep the good ship MWAV sailing.
Unfortunately that hasn't been enough to keep us afloat.
These are the new measures being enacted to keep MWAV viable until we reach a stage where we can hire and train enough staff to get us moving again
- 25% pay cut for directors.
- Some management and directors working Saturdays and Sundays as movers/office crew as well as undertaking their regular management duties.
- Sale of some medium trucks.
We're hoping these measures will be enough to get us out of the hot and uncharted water we find ourselves in.
We do not expect these issues to resolve in the short term. But the medium and long term prospects of Man With A Van are still very positive
During this period please be extra patient with management as they are already under a great deal of pressure.
If you know someone who’s looking for work and would be a great member of the crew, please ask them to apply online. And if you can put the word out to your social groups and also put up your hand for the odd extra shift, as many legends are already doing, we would be eternally grateful.
Thank you for your continuing hard work and understanding, we’ll be back to smooth sailing again if we all pull together during these stormy times:
With thanks
Tim & James
PS feel free to reach out to a manager or director if you have anything you’d like to discuss about this.
